We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. COMM-277 is delivered fully online through discussions and assignments, with opportunities to incorporate live lectures-created videos to enhance the learning experience. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.</p><p><strong>COMM-277:  Interpersonal Communication</strong></p><p>This course explores ways in which people interact verbally and nonverbally and teaches basic principles of interpersonal communication including perception, self-concept, persuasive communication, nonverbal communication, semantics, roles and norms and communication barriers. Activities include participating in groups, pairs and interactive communication situations.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Engage students with active learning.</li><li>Prepares all courses in a timely manner, lists two office hours per week through NAVIGATE.</li><li>Announcements: Post weekly announcements for students including two video announcements.</li><li>Discussions: Participates at least 4 day per week, one weekend day, with a minimum of 10 posts per discussion board.</li><li>Grading: Grades all discussions by Tuesday following the original due date.</li><li>Grades all assignments by Sunday following the original due date.</li><li>Submits all final grades by stated due date.</li><li>Attends live or listen to general education faculty forum and course collaborative meetings per session.</li><li>Performs student outreach through appropriate channels. Document student notes, outreach and outcomes in NAV360.</li><li>Collaborates with faculty and course lead, responds to course associate dean. Senior manager within 24 hours.</li><li>Follows all policies as outlined in virtual course observation document.</li></ul>
<ul><li><strong>A Master or PhD in Speech, Communications, Debate, Rhetoric, or Intercultural Communications. Studies with <u>18+ earned graduate credit hours directly in coursework</u></strong><ul><li><strong>This candidate may have an Ed.D. with 18+ graduate credit hours in Interpersonal Communication or Communication</strong></li><li>Not specifically looking for someone with an English background</li></ul></li><li>Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution and/or, for degrees earned outside of the US, a course-by-course US equivalency evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator</li><li>Prior higher education teaching experience is <strong>required</strong><ul><li><strong>More specifically looking for an individual with a record of teaching students in their first-year experience and achieving student success</strong></li></ul></li><li>Solid subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills</li><li><strong>Prior experience with course redevelopment is preferred and highly valued</strong></li><li>Excellent motivational and instructional skills to be effective in a non-traditional environment</li><li>Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups</li><li>Knowledge of MS office products</li><li>Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care</li><li>Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community</li><li>Have a strong work ethic, learn from mistakes, build positive spirit and always look for a better way</li><li>Put the team first, appreciate diverse points of view, assume positive intent, collaborate and communicate openly</li></ul>
<p><strong>Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:</strong><br>
<em>In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.<br>
