Revionics’ market-leading platform drives the world’s largest retailers in terms of their product pricing, promotion and merchandising decisions worldwide.  Over 33,000 retail locations and $200+B in annual revenue across grocery, drug, convenience, general merchandise, discount, sporting goods stores, fashion, and eCommerce sites optimize with Revionics’ solutions. </div><div>About the Role </div><div>As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a key player on the team building our next-generation Agentic Platform. Own the backend services that power our AI agent platform — async workflows, internal APIs, and the external-facing capabilities our customers build on. The Senior Software Engineer role is responsible for driving the overall system design, architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance of end-to-end AI-driven systems at Revionics. </div><div>Who You Are </div><div><ul><li>You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering including building scalable cloud-native systems and strong proficiency in microservices architecture </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>You bring a deep understanding and application of decoupled architecture as well as computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design patterns </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Proven experience designing and building backend systems for AI-powered applications, including integration with Large Language Models (LLMs) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Deep understanding of designing and implementing complex, long-running asynchronous workflows and state management for agentic systems </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Experience externalizing APIs and agent capabilities — including headless API design, MCP server development, or A2A protocol integration — for consumption by external customers and third-party systems </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Familiarity with API productization practices: usage metering and quota tracking, versioning strategies, and developer portal tooling (e.g. Apigee, Backstage, or equivalent) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), GCP experience preferred (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Demonstrated experience (5+) years of Node.js experience (NestJS Framework, Typescript) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>High level of proficiency with Typescript (including generics, classes, interfaces, etc) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Experience writing event-driven and async applications </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Demonstrated experience with Relational and NoSql databases </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Experience in containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Experience enabling CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Gitlab, or others </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Proficient and experienced in Unit Testing and usage of mocking framework, with a Test First mindset to developing features </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Security first mindset and working within security boundaries with tooling such as SAST and SCA </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Experience working within small agile teams, across multiple disciplines and able to lead the agile process in regard to ceremonies and story grooming </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Proficient in using AI tooling in day-to-day work, such as Claude Code, to aid with coding, documentation, and architecture </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>You display ownership, team spirit, are self-driven, a clear communicator, can lead cross-functionally and with empathy </li></ul></div><div> </div></div><div><div>What You'll Do </div><div><ul><li>Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to build and refine the APIs, orchestration logic, and data pipelines for our AI agents </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Own the architecture and implementation of highly scalable and reliable backend services that manage the lifecycle and execution of asynchronous agentic tasks </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>You will educate other engineering teams and advocate for scalable and maintainable architectural decisions </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Continually improve our technical stack and processes </li></ul></div><div>Nice to Have </div><div><ul><li>Familiarity with frameworks and tools in the agent development ecosystem (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) is a strong plus </li></ul></div><div>We Also Look For </div><div><ul><li>Passion </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Initiative and a Pioneering Spirit </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Quality orientation </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Resourcefulness and application </li></ul></div><div>Are you the person we’re looking for? </div><div><ul><li>Big picture thinker with laser focus.
