Job description
Accountabilities:
• Own the end-to-end revenue cycle management function, including collections, accounts receivable, billing operations, and cash flow forecasting to ensure leadership visibility into financial performance.
• Build and optimize a high-performance collections infrastructure, standardizing workflows, reducing revenue leakage, and driving improvements in net collection rates.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks across the billing lifecycle, implementing process improvements that reduce denials and accelerate AR resolution timelines.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payer disputes, directly engaging with health plans to resolve payment issues and negotiate favorable outcomes.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Product, and Growth teams to align billing strategies with contracts, operational workflows, and company expansion goals.
• Develop, track, and optimize KPIs across revenue cycle performance, using data insights to adjust strategies and improve recovery outcomes in real time.
• Lead and mentor the revenue cycle operations team, ensuring accountability, efficiency, and high-quality execution across all billing and collections activities.
• Support client and payer communications, ensuring transparency, trust, and clarity in all billing-related interactions.
Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, billing operations, or healthcare financial operations, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong expertise in collections, accounts receivable management, and end-to-end revenue cycle processes within healthcare environments.
• Proven experience negotiating and resolving complex payment issues with health plans, payers, or insurance organizations.
• Deep knowledge of CMS regulations, payer behavior, and healthcare reimbursement systems.
• Experience working with EMR and RCM systems, as well as payer portals and billing platforms; experience with system migrations is a plus.
• Strong analytical and operational mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and design scalable process improvements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams.
• High level of ownership, autonomy, and ability to thrive in fast-paced, performance-driven environments.
