EXCEL/VBA CONSULTANT

We are seeking an experienced Excel / VBA Consultant to undertake a discovery and assessment engagement focused on a business-critical Excel-based pricing model. The person in this role will evaluate the existing Excel and VBA implementation inherited through MAN, document business logic and technical dependencies, identify risks and maintainability concerns, and provide clear recommendations for modernization or replacement with a more scalable solution. The initial assignment covers an assessment phase with the possibility of further modernization work depending on findings. Responsibilities • Review the current Excel pricing model and its architecture. • Analyze VBA code to identify unused, redundant or high-risk components. • Map data sources, integrations, and system dependencies supporting the model. • Document and validate the business logic that underpins pricing calculations. • Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and maintainability issues. • Prepare clear technical documentation and a structured analysis of findings. • Recommend practical modernization options and propose future architecture approaches. • Define a roadmap for improving, refactoring or replacing the existing Excel/VBA solution. • Present findings and recommendations to business and IT stakeholders in a concise, actionable format. Qualifications • Proven experience developing and analyzing advanced Excel models. • Strong VBA development and code analysis skills, with experience diagnosing legacy implementations. • Experience with spreadsheet-based, business-critical calculation models. • Demonstrated ability to map data flows, integrations, and system dependencies. • Experience producing technical documentation and structured technical analysis. • History of participating in or leading modernization efforts for Excel/VBA solutions. • Comfortable communicating technical findings and recommendations to both business and IT stakeholders. • Preferred but not required: familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Dynamics, or cloud-based data platforms and experience replacing spreadsheet solutions with scalable enterprise applications.
