Senior Ecologist – Bat Specialist UK-wide - Hybrid working £45,000 - £50,000 Are you an experienced ecologist with strong bat mitigation and EPS licensing experience looking for a role where you can take more ownership of projects and shape how ecological solutions are delivered? The role - Senior Ecologist We're looking for a Senior Ecologist with a strong background in bat ecology, including a bat survey licence held for a minimum of 3 years, proven experience in bat mitigation design and delivery, and either recent Named Ecologist experience or Accredited Agent experience with written references to attain Named Ecologist status. You'll play a key role in leading projects, supporting colleagues, and delivering practical, high-quality solutions to complex ecological challenges. • Lead and manage ecological projects from inception to completion • Deliver and oversee bat surveys, impact assessments, and mitigation strategies • Produce and review high-quality technical reports • Support and mentor junior ecologists • Contribute to project planning, tenders, and client relationships • Work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams About you • Strong experience in UK habitat and protected species assessment • Proven experience in bat surveys, mitigation design, and implementation • Bat survey and/or mitigation licence (highly desirable) • Sound knowledge of legislation, particularly EPS licensing • Strong report writing and technical review skills • Experience managing projects and, ideally, people • Relevant degree in ecology or related discipline • Proactive, flexible approach with strong attention to detail What's on offer • £45,000 - 50,000 • Flexible working options • Career development and mentoring • Supportive, collaborative culture • Access to modern tools and resources • Opportunity to work on meaningful, nature-positive projects What's next?
