Job Description: Chief Financial Planning & Analysis Officer (Chief FP&A Officer) Industry: Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Investment Job Type: Full-Time Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Job Summary The Chief Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Officer is responsible for leading the organization's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis functions. This role provides strategic financial insights to support decision-making, optimize performance, and drive sustainable growth. The Chief FP&A Officer partners closely with executive leadership to translate business strategy into financial plans and ensures alignment between financial performance and organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Planning & Forecasting Lead annual budgeting, long-term financial planning, and rolling forecasts Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and business decisions Ensure alignment between financial plans and business objectives Monitor variances and provide actionable insights 2. Performance Analysis & Reporting Analyze financial and operational performance across business units Track KPIs such as revenue growth, profitability, cost efficiency, and ROI Prepare executive dashboards and performance reports Provide insights and recommendations to improve business outcomes 3. Strategic Decision Support Partner with CEO, CFO, and business leaders on strategic initiatives Evaluate investments, new products, and expansion opportunities Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing Support mergers, acquisitions, and capital allocation decisions 4. Cost Management & Efficiency Identify cost optimization opportunities and drive efficiency initiatives Monitor cost-to-income ratio and operational performance Support pricing strategies and profitability analysis Ensure disciplined financial management across departments 5. Data, Systems & Analytics Oversee FP&A systems, financial modeling tools, and data analytics platforms Enhance data accuracy, automation, and reporting capabilities Implement advanced analytics for predictive insights Drive digital transformation in financial planning processes 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with finance, risk, treasury, and business units Ensure alignment between financial plans and operational execution Facilitate communication between finance and non-finance stakeholders Support organizational planning and performance management 7. Leadership & Team Management Lead and develop FP&A teams Establish performance standards and accountability Foster a data-driven and analytical culture Support talent development and succession planning Key Requirements Education Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA are preferred Experience 12–18+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial strategy roles Proven experience in senior FP&A leadership roles within banking, financial services, insurance, or investment sectors Strong track record in financial planning, analysis, and business partnering Skills & Competencies Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills Strong understanding of financial services industry dynamics Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and performance management Strategic thinking and business acumen Leadership and team management Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement Data-driven decision-making and problem-solving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Forecast accuracy and budget adherence Financial performance vs. plan (revenue, profitability, cost efficiency) Quality and timeliness of financial insights Cost optimization and efficiency improvements Strategic initiative support and ROI outcomes Stakeholder satisfaction and decision-making effectiveness Preferred Attributes Experience with advanced analytics, BI tools, and financial systems Exposure to multinational or complex financial institutions Strong collaboration with executive leadership and business units Ability to operate in a dynamic, data-driven environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive executive salary Performance-based incentives Long-term incentives (where applicable) Executive benefits and allowances
