Job description
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will support the structural integrity of electric propulsion systems by developing, executing, and documenting finite element analyses throughout the engineering process. Your key responsibilities include:
• Building, updating, and maintaining finite element models of electric propulsion assemblies using ANSA or equivalent preprocessing tools
• Performing linear static structural analyses using Nastran for limit and ultimate load cases while validating model accuracy and identifying anomalies
• Supporting nonlinear structural analyses using Ansys under the guidance of senior engineers
• Post-processing simulation results using Meta or similar software to generate plots, reports, and engineering summaries
• Maintaining traceability between loads, geometry revisions, material properties, and analysis outputs
• Preparing technical analysis documentation and contributing to engineering reports
• Collaborating with design, loads, and cross-functional engineering teams to rapidly integrate design updates into structural models
• Continuously developing technical expertise through mentorship, code reviews, and hands-on engineering projects
Requirements:
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in finite element analysis, structural mechanics, and aerospace engineering principles, combined with strong analytical and collaboration skills. Key qualifications include:
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• 2–4 years of experience performing finite element analysis on structural assemblies
• Hands-on experience with ANSA or equivalent meshing and preprocessing software
• Working knowledge of Nastran for linear static structural analysis
• Familiarity with Meta, FEMAP, or similar post-processing tools
• Strong understanding of structural mechanics, including stress, strain, load paths, and bolted joint behavior
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn, receive feedback, and contribute within multidisciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with rotating machinery, electric powertrains, or electromechanical structural systems
• Familiarity with nonlinear structural analysis using Ansys
• Programming experience with Python or MATLAB for FEA automation or post-processing
• Knowledge of composite and metallic aerospace structural analysis methods
• Familiarity with FAA certification standards such as Part 23 or Part 27
• Experience working with PDM or PLM systems for engineering data and model management
Benefits:
• Competitive base salary ranging from $100,000 to $160,000 , depending on experience, skills, and qualifications
• Performance-focused compensation philosophy with opportunities for career growth
• Opportunity to work on innovative electric aerospace technologies with industry-leading engineering teams
• Collaborative, inclusive, and diverse workplace focused on innovation and continuous learning
• Professional development through mentorship and exposure to advanced engineering projects
• Comprehensive benefits package and employee support programs
• Reasonable workplace accommodations available for qualified applicants throughout the hiring process.
