TITLE: Senior GenAI Machine Learning Engineer (LLM/AWS Bedrock) - Full Remote Portugal ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Join a fast-growing, global insurtech scale-up that is building a technology-enabled ecosystem serving customers across 35+ markets in Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa. Our client's international team of 1,600+ professionals is modernizing how insurance protection is delivered at the point of need, and Generative AI sits at the core of that transformation. This is a chance to shape a global GenAI roadmap from the ground up, working alongside the Head of AI, data scientists, and product leadership in a high-impact, high-visibility role. PROJECT & CONTEXT You'll drive the development of GenAI initiatives globally, building and scaling LLM-powered applications for customer interactions, including GenAI-powered Contact Centers and agentic solutions. Using frameworks such as LangChain and AWS Bedrock, you'll design custom solutions leveraging foundation models from leading providers, fine-tune and evaluate LLMs, and build scalable APIs for real-time AI inference. You'll also contribute to responsible AI governance and extend GenAI applications into document processing, claims decisioning, and reporting. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required) • 6+ years of experience in AI/machine learning, including 3+ years in ML engineering, NLP, Generative AI, and LLM technologies • Hands-on experience with LLM agentic workflows and frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex) • Solid knowledge of transformer architectures, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), guardrails, and LLM evaluation methodologies • Advanced Python proficiency • Experience with cloud technology, preferably AWS (AWS Bedrock) • English proficiency at B2/C1 level minimum (spoken and written) • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-disciplinary communication skills • Must be based in Portugal NICE TO HAVE (Preferred) • Hands-on MLOps/LLMOps experience • Experience designing and managing distributed training pipelines for LLMs • Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and scikit-learn for training, fine-tuning, and deploying generative models • Experience with Voice Conversational AI Compensation: €2,000 – €2,450/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
