Become a part of our caring community The Lead Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Application Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Lead Application Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action. Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum of 7-10 years in application architecture, with significant experience in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions. • Proven experience in leading modernization projects, including migrating legacy systems to cloud native solutions. • Strong background in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and architecture best practices. • Proficiency in application integration and modern development frameworks. • Familiarity with containers and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. • Knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. • Handson experience or familiarity with generative AI and relevant tools or frameworks. • Expertise in creating and managing data architecture solutions that support data modeling, storage, and retrieval. • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in a relevant field or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert). • Experience in leading cross functional teams and mentoring junior architects and developers. • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). • Proficiency in integrating security practices within the DevOps pipeline (DevSecOps) to ensure secure software delivery. • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders, including business leaders and technical teams. • Skills in managing relationships with stakeholders at various levels, including technical teams, business partners, and executives. • A mindset geared toward innovation, constantly exploring new technologies and approaches to improve application architecture and performance. • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and evolving business requirements in a fast-paced environment. • Understanding of industry specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PCI) that affect data handling, storage, and application design. • Experience with BI tools and practices that support data driven decision making within organizations. • Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools that facilitate agile development and team communication, such as JIRA. • Knowledge of change management principles to effectively lead and manage transitions in technology and processes. Additional Information Work-At-Home Requirements • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense. • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required. • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role. • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $129,300 - $177,800 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
