MAINFRAME SMP/E & Z/OSMF EXPERT

Accountabilities: As a Mainframe SMP/E & z/OSMF Expert, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and improving enterprise mainframe software environments. You will apply your technical expertise to ensure efficient software lifecycle management, automation, and system reliability. • Manage and support SMP/E processes for mainframe software installation, maintenance, and updates. • Configure and work with z/OSMF and REST APIs to support software management activities. • Perform installation, customization, and troubleshooting of z/OS and ISV software components. • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and REXX to improve operational efficiency. • Support software testing activities, including functionality, robustness, and performance validation. • Work with Git and USS/OMVS environments to manage code, configurations, and system processes. • Analyze and resolve technical issues related to mainframe software environments and integrations. • Collaborate with technical teams to implement improvements and maintain best practices for enterprise systems. • Support IBM software and mainframe ISV customization activities according to business requirements. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced mainframe professional with strong knowledge of software management, automation, and z/OS technologies. You should have hands-on experience working with enterprise environments and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges. • 5+ years of experience working with mainframe technologies and enterprise systems. • Strong expertise in SMP/E software installation and maintenance processes. • Hands-on experience with z/OSMF and REST APIs for software management. • Strong knowledge of z/OS environments, ISV software installation, and customization. • Experience with USS/OMVS and Git workflows. • Proficiency in Python and REXX scripting for automation and operational tasks. • Experience performing software testing, including functional, reliability, and performance testing. • Knowledge of IBM software products and mainframe ISV solutions. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with technical teams.
