MAINFRAME Z/OS EXPERT

Accountabilities: As a Mainframe z/OS Expert, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and improving mainframe environments while ensuring system reliability and operational excellence. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform technical implementations, and contribute to testing and optimization initiatives. • Provide advanced technical expertise on z/OS internals and mainframe system operations. • Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root-cause analysis to ensure timely resolution. • Manage and support catalog management activities within z/OS environments. • Administer and secure USS/OMVS environments, ensuring proper access controls and system security. • Perform z/OS and ISV software installations, configurations, and upgrades. • Execute advanced software testing activities, including functionality, robustness, and performance validation. • Develop and maintain automation solutions using REXX and Python scripting. • Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency. • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve incidents and support ongoing infrastructure initiatives. • Document technical procedures, troubleshooting processes, and operational best practices. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a senior mainframe professional with extensive experience managing z/OS environments and strong technical problem-solving abilities. You should have a deep understanding of enterprise mainframe systems, security practices, and automation techniques. • 10+ years of professional experience working with Mainframe technologies. • Deep expertise in z/OS internals and system architecture. • Strong knowledge of catalog management within z/OS environments. • Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues. • Hands-on experience with USS/OMVS environments and USS security management. • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting z/OS and ISV software. • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functionality, robustness, and performance testing. • Proficiency in REXX and Python programming for automation and system support. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with technical teams. • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex technical challenges.
