Accountabilities: The Senior Engineering Manager will lead one or more software development teams, providing technical direction, mentorship, and operational leadership to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions. This role requires close collaboration with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define priorities, improve processes, and ensure successful execution. • Manage daily activities of engineering teams, including goal setting, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development. • Partner with product leadership to define roadmaps, refine requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful delivery. • Establish engineering standards, ensure development processes are followed, and promote strong documentation practices. • Drive improvements across software development workflows, architecture, and engineering operations. • Support recruitment initiatives and help build high-performing engineering teams. • Define and monitor key performance indicators, service-level objectives, and system reliability metrics. • Collaborate with engineers to deliver solutions that meet scalability, performance, and reliability goals. • Guide technical decision-making and encourage clean architecture, maintainable code, and strong engineering practices. • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture focused on continuous improvement. • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering best practices to identify opportunities for innovation. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a strong software development background and a passion for building exceptional teams and products. They should combine technical depth, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to successfully guide complex engineering initiatives. • 10+ years of software development experience with at least 5 years in an engineering leadership or management role. • Proven experience leading engineering teams of 10 or more engineers. • Strong background in software architecture, engineering processes, and large-scale application development. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver results within deadlines. • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges and identify practical solutions. • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels. • Collaborative leadership style with a focus on team success, mentorship, and employee growth. • Passion for software craftsmanship, clean code, and scalable system design. • Experience with distributed systems, Kafka, and real-time data streaming technologies. • Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Ability to simplify complex problems and create effective solutions. • Experience with technologies such as PHP, Next.js, Python, AWS Lambda, Elixir, GraphQL APIs, GraphQL subscriptions, GCP, or open-source contributions is a plus. • Experience working in fast-paced technology environments with evolving priorities.
