Job description

Accountabilities: As a Video Player Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving software solutions that power modern video delivery workflows. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and technology teams to create reliable systems, improve development processes, and support high-quality digital experiences. • Design, build, deploy, and test software solutions supporting large-scale video workflows and streaming platforms. • Develop and maintain applications using modern programming technologies such as React.js, Golang, or similar languages. • Collaborate with engineering, product management, project teams, and backend technology teams to solve complex technical challenges. • Contribute to software architecture decisions by evaluating technical approaches, scalability, reliability, and performance trade-offs. • Improve development practices by strengthening CI/CD workflows, testing strategies, and engineering standards. • Analyze existing systems, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. • Participate in production support activities, including Tier 3 on-call rotations for services developed and operated by the team. • Support the creation of automated, resilient tools that improve video platform reliability and user experience. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a skilled software engineer with experience building scalable applications, working with cloud environments, and understanding modern software development practices. Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to collaborate across technical teams are essential. • Strong software development experience with React.js, Golang, or equivalent programming languages. • Solid understanding of software design principles, architecture patterns, and technical trade-offs. • Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms. • Familiarity with containerized environments, microservices architectures, and distributed systems. • Good understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Experience building scalable cloud-based services and production-grade applications. • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern engineering workflows. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues. • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and business stakeholders. • Experience with video streaming technologies, UI tools for live streaming, or streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH is a plus. • Familiarity with AWS Media Services, including MediaConvert, MediaLive, or MediaPackage, is an advantage.
