Job description
Accountabilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript for modern web applications.
• Build maintainable UI automation solutions using Page Object Model (POM), component-based architectures, reusable libraries, and best practices.
• Optimize automation execution through efficient browser management, parallel testing, concurrency improvements, and stable test design.
• Develop API automation frameworks for REST, GraphQL, and SOAP services using Python and pytest.
• Create reusable API clients, fixtures, parameterized test suites, validation frameworks, and performance checks for critical services.
• Maintain automated testing solutions including Postman and Newman collections for smoke testing, contract validation, and regression coverage.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Design quality gates, deployment validation workflows, and post-release verification processes to improve software delivery confidence.
• Monitor automation execution, improve reporting visibility, and reduce flaky tests through continuous framework enhancements.
• Develop and maintain service virtualization solutions using WireMock and similar tools to support independent testing and development.
• Establish automation architecture standards, coding guidelines, reusable utilities, and shared testing components.
• Review automation code, mentor engineers, and promote strong quality engineering practices across teams.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, architects, and DevOps teams to improve application testability and overall engineering quality.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, user stories, and automated tests through test management platforms.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles.
• Proven experience building scalable automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript for UI automation.
• Extensive experience developing API automation solutions using Python and pytest.
• Experience testing REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs in distributed or microservices-based environments.
• Strong understanding of automation framework architecture, including Page Object Model, test isolation, reusable fixtures, and data-driven testing.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Hands-on experience with API mocking and service virtualization solutions such as WireMock.
• Strong knowledge of Git workflows, pull requests, and version control best practices.
• Experience using Jira for test management, traceability, sprint reporting, and collaboration.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS environments, Linux shell scripting, and cloud-based testing infrastructure.
• Ability to design reliable automation solutions with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying quality improvements.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for automation quality and engineering outcomes.
• Preferred experience with Selenium-to-Playwright migrations, Java with TestNG/JUnit, Spring Boot microservices, performance testing tools such as k6 or Gatling, and observability solutions.
• Experience in high-traffic digital products, enterprise applications, eCommerce, hospitality, or booking platforms is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Advanced or equivalent are beneficial.
