JAVA DEVELOPER (INSTANT PAYMENTS AREA)

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join an international banking project focused on the development and evolution of payment solutions. You will become part of a distributed team of software engineers based in Romania and Italy , contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of backend applications in a modern Agile environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and the Spring Framework , with a particular focus on Spring Integration . • Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that meet business and technical requirements. • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA Engineers, and fellow developers throughout the software development lifecycle. • Participate in technical analysis, reverse engineering, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. • Design, develop, and consume SOAP and REST APIs . • Contribute to database migrations and versioning using Flyway . • Participate in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities. • Estimate development effort and contribute to implementation planning. • Ensure compliance with coding standards, development best practices, and Agile methodologies. • Support testing, deployment, and production issue investigations when required. Required Skills & Experience • Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Spring Framework , with particular attention to Spring Integration . • Solid experience with SOAP and REST API integration. • Good knowledge of Flyway . • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues. • Previous experience working on banking or financial services projects is required (ideally within Payments projects) • Experience working in Agile teams. • Experience in pair-programming • Professional proficiency in English . • Italian language skills would be considered a plus.
