Job description

Job Title: Biologics Prior Authorization Coordinator Position Type: Full-time Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time,Monday to Friday Salary rate: $5-$7 Job Responsibilities: • Coordinate the initiation and continuation of biologic therapies. • Manage the workflow from the provider’s order through medication approval, delivery, and ongoing treatment support. • Prepare, submit, and track prior authorizations, appeals, and supporting insurance documentation. • Follow up with insurance companies and proactively resolve authorization delays or treatment barriers. • Coordinate prescriptions and medication delivery with specialty pharmacies. • Assist patients with enrollment in manufacturer assistance and medication access programs. • Educate patients about approval timelines, specialty pharmacy requirements, and next steps. • Maintain accurate patient records and authorization updates in the EMR. • Collaborate with providers, nurses, pharmacies, insurers, and other clinical staff to support continuity of care. • Prepare and maintain biologic medication records, status reports, and tracking systems • At least 1 year of previous experience handling medication prior authorizations is required • Experience with biologic medications, specialty pharmacies, or infusion therapies is strongly preferred. • Previous experience working in a medical office or specialty practice. • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (CMA/RMA) is preferred. • Proficiency with EMR systems and other healthcare-related software. • Strong understanding of insurance documentation and authorization processes. • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic Requirements • Must speak and write English clearly and professionally. • Must have relevant work experience. • Must be able to provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding (mandatory). • Must be available to attend video meetings with camera on when required.
