Job description
Position Overview
A defense and government contracting firm is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the execution of complex, multi-disciplinary government contracts. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of managing federal programs from award through closeout, with deep knowledge of government contracting regulations and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams remotely.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for government customers and manage all aspects of program delivery
• Develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, risk registers, and performance baselines
• Lead integrated project teams including subcontractors, functional leads, and staff across multiple locations
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, FAR/DFAR regulations, and applicable government standards
• Prepare and present program status reports, EVM data, and executive briefings to government and corporate leadership
• Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and drive resolution of issues affecting cost, schedule, or performance
• Support business development activities including proposals, re-competes, and contract modifications
Requirements
• Active security clearance required (Secret minimum; TS preferred)
• US citizenship required
• 5+ years of federal program or project management experience
• Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and government contract lifecycle management
• PMP certification or equivalent program management credential
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets of $5M+ and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with DoD, IC, or federal civilian agency programs
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
• Prior military service or government acquisition experience
• Master's degree in a relevant field
