Job description

Job Title: Director of Operations

This is a fully remote role based in Argentina.

A bit about us
Tires Easy ships 10,000+ tires a day across the United States. We do over $500M in annual revenue. Our technology is, frankly, behind where it needs to be — which is exactly why we're hiring for this role. We are not a tire company that decided to try AI. We are a group of investors and operators who looked at the $60 billion replacement tire market, saw decades of accumulated technical debt and zero AI adoption, and deliberately bought in to build something different.
That thesis has been right. The business is growing fast. The team we've assembled has backgrounds in private equity, consulting, hedge funds, and healthcare — not tire retail. Everyone here joined because they believed in the same vision: that the highest-leverage AI opportunity isn't at the frontier labs. It's in the massive, unglamorous industries that have never been touched.

Summary

Reporting to the COO, the Director of Operations owns the end-to-end order fulfillment experience - from the moment an order is transmitted to a supplier through delivery at the customer's door, and leads the Operations team responsible for supplier performance and order execution. Beyond running the day-to-day, this person will take on special projects and cross-functional strategic initiatives alongside the COO, moving the organization from reactive problem-solving to proactive risk management and identifying where automation and AI can remove manual work.

We are looking for someone with the right balance of people leadership and strategic execution. The right person will be a self-starter with a bias for action, comfortable managing managers while also rolling up their sleeves on cross-functional projects, and will have a track record for building new processes from the ground up and getting things done.

The culture is startup-paced and intellectually honest. We work hard, we debate ideas at the whiteboard and make decisions the same day. If you want a slow-moving environment with lots of process, this isn't it. If you want to build something real, fast, with people who are just as bought in as you are — this is exactly it

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Owns the health of order transmission to suppliers and manages supplier performance, driving accountability for on-time processing and shipping.

Manages carrier relationships and in-transit performance, owning the shipping claims process end-to-end.

Owns the returns-to-supplier workflow (RMA retrieval and tracking), coordinating with the Sr. Ops Program Manager and Returns Center Manager on the physical handoff

Manages the People & Ops Managers and the Program & Analytics Manager, setting priorities and holding the team accountable for performance and coaching across both Ops pods.

Leads special projects and cross-functional strategic initiatives alongside the COO and other leaders - applying the same rigor to one-off strategic work as to core fulfillment operations.

Identifies structural and process inefficiencies across the fulfillment organization, developing and implementing targeted improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Leads process optimization and automation projects, partnering with technical teams to apply AI and systems-based solutions that reduce manual work and cycle times.

Proactively identifies points of potential failure across the order lifecycle and puts safeguards in place before issues occur, shifting the team's posture from reactive firefighting to proactive risk management.

Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Must be able to work until 2:00 PM PT

8+ years of operations management experience, including 3+ years leading managers or multi-team functions

Experience owning supplier, logistics/carrier, or fulfillment relationships at scale

Comfortable in dynamic, fast-growing environments and adaptable to change (start-up experience preferred)

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate issues before they surface

Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making

Business acumen with the ability to relate financial and operational data to decisions

Self-driven with initiative to implement solutions independently

Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across teams

Proficient in Google Suite products and data processing/reporting tools

Bachelor's degree required

Travel

Travel up to 15% of the time is required for this position (e.g. supplier or carrier site visits)
