Accountabilities:
The Sr. Systems Engineer I will support the execution of cybersecurity programs by providing technical expertise in security engineering, system analysis, and operational support. The role focuses on designing secure solutions, resolving complex issues, and ensuring alignment with established security standards.
• Develop, administer, and support processes using security platforms such as RSA Archer to strengthen cybersecurity operations.
• Serve as a security engineering subject matter expert responsible for planning, designing, and architecting multi-technology cyber solutions.
• Investigate security incidents and technical issues to identify root causes, troubleshoot problems, and implement remediation strategies.
• Provide guidance on security activities while collaborating with key stakeholders and documenting security information and event management activities.
• Perform remote management and troubleshooting of workstations and servers.
• Conduct research and analysis to support technology improvements and expanded security initiatives.
• Assess information assurance and security requirements based on user needs, policies, regulations, and resource considerations.
• Analyze security features within system architectures and provide recommendations for secure implementations.
• Support compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST, FISMA, agency security requirements, privacy standards, and cloud security guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance and coordination to improve overall security posture.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a cybersecurity-focused systems engineer with strong analytical abilities, technical problem-solving skills, and experience supporting secure enterprise environments. This role requires knowledge of security frameworks, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Minimum of 5 years of security experience, including at least 2 years focused on security engineering activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills related to security information and event management.
• Experience supporting cybersecurity programs and enterprise security environments.
• Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, and cloud security environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze security requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Experience with security tools, system architectures, and security operations processes.
• Security+ certification required.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
