Job description

The Digital Technology Institute for Development (DTID) , formerly Blockchain and Climate Institute, invites experienced professionals, academics, industry leaders, and independent traders with substantial networks and resources to apply for our Special Advisor role. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage deeply with interdisciplinary teams to drive innovative climate solutions, leveraging digital technologies. In addition to thought-leader contributions at the organisational level, Special Advisors (SpAd) may be assigned to relevant divisions to advise on project development and on advancing our global partnership network. Key Responsibilities • Providing strategic advice and guidance on matters relevant to DTID’s mission and long-term objectives; • Offering high-level counsel to the Executive Committee on emerging opportunities, trends, partnerships, and strategic priorities; • Supporting DTID's advocacy and stakeholder engagement efforts through professional expertise, credibility, and networks where appropriate; • Sharing thought leadership and insights relating to climate policy, digital emerging technologies, sustainability, and ESG; • Evaluating and weighing multiple inputs and impacts of strategic decisions or courses of action; • Providing independent perspectives and constructive challenge to support sound decision-making; • Participating in strategic discussions, consultations, or advisory engagements on an as-needed basis; Areas of Expertise • Significant experience in executive leadership, governance, policy-making, advisory, board, academic, or industry roles; • Established professional reputation and recognized standing within relevant sectors; • Experience in advising senior decision-makers and influencing strategic outcomes; • Experience in building constructive relationships with stakeholders; and • Experience contributing expertise and thought leadership to advance organisational objectives. Requirements • Demonstrated expertise in one or more listed areas. • Established professional or academic track record in climate, technology, or sustainability fields. • Strong interpersonal skills with proven capability to work in collaborative environments. • Ability to effectively utilize personal networks or resources to benefit DTID’s mission. • Must have a can-do mindset • Network expansion with global experts and industry leaders. • Enhanced professional visibility and career development. • Access to exclusive DTID workshops, events, and training sessions. • Lifelong membership to an active global alumni community.
