This role leads key accounting work streams with a primary focus on grant accounting and compliance, New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) accounting support, and special projects as they arise. As a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), NFF integrates mission and capital across its work. This role partners closely with program, lending, and finance colleagues to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong stewardship of restricted funds, and compliance with federal and funder requirements. This Director role is well-suited for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.</span></p> <p><span data-contrast="none">NFF has offices in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Oakland, and Los Angeles. This is a US-based remote role, with a strong preference for candidates within commutable distance to one of NFF’s offices. data-contrast="none">Grant Accounting, Compliance, and Reporting (35%)</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":276}"> </span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span data-contrast="none">Manage financial review, accounting, and reporting for assigned grants, including federal grants subject to Single Audit requirements.</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":276}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="none">Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition for grants and contributions in accordance with GAAP, FASB guidance, and OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":276}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="none">Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to grant revenue, expense allocations, and releases from restricted net assets.</span><span data-ccp-props="{"201341983":0,"335559739":0,"335559740":276}"> </span></li> <li><span data-contrast="none">Maintain grant revenue, grant receivable, and net asset release schedules; reconcile schedules to the general ledger and trial balance each month.</span><span data-contrast="none">Track and reconcile expenses paid by NFF on behalf of NMTC funds; prepare and invoice receivables for reimbursement.</span><span role with an annual compensation range of $129,400 - $143,800.
