<p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>As the Team Lead for our Frontend development team, you will play a key role in driving the architecture, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will lead a group of talented developers, ensuring smooth collaboration, technical innovation, and strong delivery results. Your responsibilities will encompass both hands-on coding and line management, helping the team grow, improve, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.</p> <p><strong>Our stack</strong></p> <ul> <li>Frontend: Vue.js, Vuex, Vue Router, Nuxt.js (Planned Migration), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Less, SCSS, Element UI </li> <li>Testing &amp; Build: Webpack, Playwright </li> <li>Backend Exposure: Java, Spring Boot, Node.js </li> <li>Infra &amp; DevOps Exposure: AWS, Kubernetes (K8s), Jenkins, FreeMarker</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you'll be doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor a team of Frontend developers within the Marketing Tech and Social domain. </li> <li>Drive high-level architecture and design decisions for complex software systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and code quality. </li> <li>Lead major technical migration projects, specifically executing our roadmap to transition the platform to Nuxt.js and Server-Side Rendering (SSR). </li> <li>Focus heavily on performance engineering, optimizing site load speed, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO for high-traffic environments. </li> <li>Maintain a heavily hands-on contribution level (coding, architecture, and code reviews) alongside line management responsibilities. </li> <li>Manage team members' performance, lead 1-on-1s, drive career development, and handle work allocation. </li> <li>Drive continuous improvement in development processes, modern tools, and delivery standards across the team. </li> <li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, backend engineers, and product teams to refine requirements and ship high-quality features. </li> </ul> <p><strong>What you'll bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ years of software development experience with a primary focus on Frontend technologies. </li> <li>2+ years of experience in a formal leadership or line management role (mentoring, performance evaluations, work allocation). </li> <li>Strong technical mastery of JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), CSS preprocessors (Less/Sass), Webpack, and Git. </li> <li>Proven experience with state management architectures (e.g., Vuex, Redux, NgRx). </li> <li>Experience planning and executing large-scale web migrations, particularly with Nuxt.js or Server-Side Rendering (SSR) frameworks. </li> <li>Strong track record in web performance engineering, Core Web Vitals optimization, and technical SEO. </li> <li>Experience working in high-traffic, high-scale environments such as MarTech, AdTech, E-commerce, Betting, or Events platforms. </li> <li>Familiarity with modern end-to-end testing tools (e.g., Playwright) is a plus. </li> <li>Basic awareness/understanding of backend environments (Java, SpringBoot) and DevOps concepts (AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins) is a plus. </li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. </li> </ul> <p><strong>What’s in it for you</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sporty is a remote first company in pursuit of sustainability</li> <li>A competitive salary + individual performance based bonuses every quarter</li> <li>28 days paid annual leave</li> <li>Our core working hours are 10am-3pm in your local time zone with flexibility outside of this</li> <li>Referral bonuses &amp; flash bonuses</li> <li>Top of the line equipment</li> <li>Annual company retreats to provide great internal networking opportunities</li> </ul> <p><strong>Interview Process</strong></p> <ul> <li>Remote video screening with our Talent Acquisition Team </li> <li>Offline Take home assignment</li> <li>Remote video interview with Team Members (60 Mins)</li> <li>Final discussion with the hiring manager (60 mins)</li> </ul> <p>If you're interested, we encourage you to apply!
