We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds. ABOUT THE ROLE The Design Lead owns design on Volta's project. Embedded in the project team and working to the Project Delivery Manager, you will manage the design partners, protect the standard design intent, and keep design moving at construction pace. You will carry a functional line to Volta's design and engineering leadership, applying fleet standards on site while feeding project learning back into the reference designs. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING - Manage design partners and consultants through detailed design and construction - Apply Volta's standard designs and manage deviations with discipline - Run design reviews covering safety, constructability, quality and commissioning needs - Own the technical query and RFI process, keeping site answers fast and recorded - Review contractor and vendor design deliverables against requirements - Coordinate design interfaces across power, cooling, network and structural scope - Support the DSX team on requirements for NVIDIA Vera cluster deployment - Feed lessons from site back into the fleet's reference designs WHAT YOU BRING - Data center design or engineering experience is essential - A strong grounding in MEP-heavy facility design and coordination - Experience managing design consultants during live construction - Working knowledge of commissioning requirements in design - Clear technical communication with site and executive audiences - Willingness to be based on-site through delivery REQ-105 WHAT WE OFFER At Volta, we believe people do their best work when they feel supported, trusted and able to grow.
