<p><b><b>What this Job Entails: </b></b></p><p></p><p><span>The Data Center Technician II will assist with installation of hardware into racks, asset tagging and scanning, cabling, data center maintenance, documenting processes and server installations.</span></p><p></p><p><b><b>Scope: </b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues</span></p></li><li><p><span>Requires some instruction on new assignments and infrequent checks on daily work</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Your Roles and Responsibilities:</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Participate in installing, moving, and decommissioning hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, fiber/copper/other cables and cable management, servers, storage, and other devices in the Data Center. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Confirm and label devices, rack and cables.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work in a standard ticketing system, providing clear, timely, and appropriate customer communications.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work under the direction of Site Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager) and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Program Policies, Safety Policies, and Security Policies, while meeting requirements for quality and quantity of work.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Other duties as required. This list is not meant to be a comprehensive inventory of all responsibilities assigned to this position</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Required Qualifications/Skills:</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2 to 5 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to respond to any On-Call request within 1 hour, while on-call</span></p></li><li><p><span>Effectively utilize the ticket management systems </span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to cable systems (power/copper/fiber/other) correctly based on ticket requirements and SOP standards </span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience working with CAT5e and CAT6 copper cable and multi-mode and single-mode fiber</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to adapt to changing priorities, conditions, and circumstances </span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong organization skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Working knowledge of computer hardware </span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of networking components and infrastructures </span></p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of copper and fiber testers</span></p></li><li><p><span>Excellent troubleshooting skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Understanding of Data Center best practices (i.e. basic fault tolerance, cable routing, calculating power usage) </span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with cable management and knowledge of how to run fiber and copper in a data center </span></p></li><li><p><span>Some knowledge of Data-Center electrical, HVAC, and bandwidth infrastructures as well as fiber/copper topologies </span></p></li><li><p><span>Able to operate material handling equipment – server lifts, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified) </span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficiency working with standard desktop PC tools and applications, such as MS Office, MS Outlook, web browsers, etc. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to learn new software</span></p></li><li><p><span>Must provide own transportation to work locations </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Preferred Qualifications: </b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Certifications in Data Center technologies are desired </span></p></li><li><p><span>Hands on experience in electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures</span></p></li><li><p><span>Working knowledge of networking components and infrastructures, including Wi-Fi</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Physical Demand &amp; Work Environment:</b></b></p><ul><li><p><span>Physically assist in moving and racking equipment. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Able to safely lift and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds </span></p></li><li><p><span>Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing</span></p></li><li><p><span>Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment</span></p></li><li><p><span>Must be able to use a computer</span></p></li><li><p><span>Must have the ability to communicate effectively </span></p></li><li><p><span>Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers</span></p></li></ul><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Salary Range</b></p>$19.22 - $30.35 USD (Hourly)<ul><li><i>Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of Astreya to remit.</i></li><li><i>Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position.
