<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Junior Finance and Accounting Assistant</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Remote (U.S) </p> <p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-Time.<br><strong>Industry:</strong> Artificial Intelligence / Tech Startup</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>We are a fast-growing startup in the legal AI space, building cutting-edge solutions that are reshaping the litigation workflow. </p> <p>We are looking for an exceptional Junior Finance and Accounting Assistant.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>This role requires a combination of:</p> <ul> <li>Basic finance and accounting knowledge and skills.</li> <li>Interpersonal / people / relationship skills.</li> <li>Very strong attention to financial and operational details.</li> <li>Desire to learn advanced accounting rules and procedures.</li> <li>Ability to perform a wide range of finance and accounting tasks under deadline pressure.</li> <li>Good communications skills.</li> </ul> <p>As a Junior Finance and Accounting Assistant, you will assist both the Head of Finance and the rest of the Finance team in performing finance, accounting and operations tasks.</p> <p>We're looking for someone who is smart, a quick learner, resourceful, hands-on, energetic, and highly self-motivated, with the ambition to grow into a broader role in the future.</p> <p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare accounting schedules on excel including reserve for doubtful accounts, reserve for employee bonuses.</li> <li>Prepare depreciation and amortization schedules including pre-paid assets.</li> <li>Prepare salespeople variable compensation schedules.</li> <li>Assist with the preparation of invoices for clients.</li> <li>Assist with accounting and collections of accounts receivable.</li> <li>Assist with all recurring finance functions including payroll, insurance, financial filings, audit, month end close, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.</li> <li>Prepare various financial analysis on excel under guidance of the head of finance.</li> <li>Assist with updates of budgets and forecasts.</li> <li>Assist with cap table and equity management.</li> <li>Assist with preparation for board meetings and board consent.</li> <li>Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO, COO, Financial Controller and Head of Finance.</li> <li>Handle sensitive information, including related to personnel dynamics, with the highest level of discretion, aptitude for trust-building and professionalism.</li> <li>Identify opportunities to optimize workflows and implement operational systems.</li> <li>Perform occasional ad hoc tasks related to operations, finance and accounting. <br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p> <ul> <li>1–2 years of experience as a junior finance assistant, financial analyst, accounting assistant, controller assistant or similar role.</li> <li>Bachelors degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or similar.</li> <li>Aptitude for working well with a diverse group of people in team settings.</li> <li>Proven ability to operate autonomously and take initiative with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.</li> <li>Proactive, resourceful, and calm under pressure.</li> <li>Analytical, logical and data driven.</li> <li>Tech-savvy and quickly adapt to new tools and platforms.</li> <li>Required: basic understanding of accounting concepts and principles: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Account Receivable Aging, Debits and Credits, Journal Entries, Reserves and Accruals.</li> <li>Required: Must know Excel and Google Sheets.</li> <li>Required: Basic experience using QuickBooks Online.</li> <li>Helpful but not required: Basic experience using Ramp and/or a Payroll platform such as TriNet, ADP or JustWorks.<br><br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Join a growing AI company with a bold vision and strong impact.</li> <li>Gain unique insight into finance operations.</li> <li>Have the freedom and autonomy to shape how the role evolves.</li> <li>Clear potential to grow into higher-level roles.</li> <li>Fully remote culture, flexible work environment, and a collaborative team.</li> <li>Competitive salary + 401K plan.</li> <li>Paid time off and holidays. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Compensation range:</strong></p> <p>$90,000 - $120,000 annually.
