This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 65000000 - Rs 75000000 (ie INR 650 - 750 LPA) Min Experience: 6+ years Location: United Kingdom JobType: full-time We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise eCommerce development and platform engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Shopify Plus , Adobe Commerce , and Magento , delivering scalable, high-performing, and customer-centric online shopping experiences. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, QA, and DevOps to architect, develop, and optimize eCommerce solutions that support business growth and exceptional customer experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of modern eCommerce architectures, customization, third-party integrations, performance optimization, and best software engineering practices. You should be comfortable leading technical initiatives, mentoring junior developers, and driving continuous improvements across development processes. Requirements Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade eCommerce applications using Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce, and Magento. • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance storefronts, backend services, and custom modules. • Develop custom themes, plugins, extensions, and APIs to meet evolving business requirements. • Integrate payment gateways, ERP, CRM, inventory management systems, shipping providers, and other third-party services. • Optimize website performance, page speed, SEO, accessibility, and overall user experience. • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. • Review code, enforce engineering best practices, and mentor junior developers through technical guidance. • Participate in architecture discussions and recommend scalable technology solutions for future growth. • Ensure applications follow security standards, coding guidelines, and industry best practices. • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management activities. • Stay up to date with emerging eCommerce technologies, platform updates, and development frameworks. Must-have Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Shopify Plus development, customization, and platform administration. • Extensive experience developing and maintaining applications on Adobe Commerce (Magento Commerce) . • Deep expertise in Magento architecture, custom module development, themes, and extensions. • Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and third-party integrations. • Experience implementing payment gateways, shipping integrations, tax solutions, and inventory systems. • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns. • Experience with Git, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies. • Ability to optimize application performance, scalability, and security. • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good-to-have Skills • Strong proficiency in HTML . • Good knowledge of JavaScript and modern front-end development concepts. • Experience working with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility. • Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized deployments. • Knowledge of SEO best practices for eCommerce platforms. • Experience with performance monitoring and analytics tools. Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. • 6–9 years of professional software development experience with significant exposure to enterprise eCommerce platforms. • Proven experience delivering large-scale Shopify Plus and Adobe Commerce implementations. • Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and scalable application development. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across distributed teams. • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced environment.
