MIDDLE SAP BW ENGINEER

Fo one of our big clients we are looking for a Senior SAP Data Migration Engineer with 7+ years of SAP engineering experience and a strong background in SAP ECC, SAP BW, and SAP Data Services (BODS). The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise in end-to-end SAP data migration projects, building and optimizing extractors, validating data quality, and integrating with AWS S3 and Databricks, while also mentoring team members and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders. Role Summary Location - Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Spain Work type - Remote/Office (your choice) Direction - Engineering & Technology Subdirection - Platforms & Integration Tech level - Middle About the role In this role, you will lead the migration of business-critical data from SAP ECC and SAP BW into a modern AWS and Databricks environment. You will drive technical decisions around data extraction and migration, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor engineers to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support business transformation. Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end data migration from SAP ECC and SAP BW into AWS S3 and Databricks • Design, develop, and optimize SAP extractors, including standard and custom solutions for datasets beyond ODP capabilities • Build and maintain SAP Data Services (BODS) jobs and workflows, ensuring reliable data extraction, delta processing, and error handling • Configure and troubleshoot integrations between SAP Data Services and external platforms, including AWS S3 • Validate migration quality by reconciling source and target data, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of full and delta loads • Collaborate with Databricks Engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable data migration solutions • Mentor engineers, share technical expertise, and contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives Requirements • 7+ years of experience in SAP engineering, including hands-on delivery of SAP ECC and SAP BW data migration projects • Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP BW data models, with experience designing and maintaining standard and custom SAP extractors • Hands-on experience with SAP Data Services (BODS), including workflow design, datastore configuration, delta processing, error handling, and integration with external platforms • Experience validating data migrations through reconciliation, data quality checks, and full and delta load verification • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in Agile teams and mentoring other engineers • Experience with AWS S3, Databricks, or RFC/ABAP-based data extraction would be an advantage Recruitment Process: • CV Screening: Applications are reviewed within 12-24 hours. • Pre-Screening: A short Q&A session (AI or with a recruiter) to assess your experience. • Shortlisting: Selected candidates are presented to the hiring manager. • Interview1: Tech discussion with the project team • Interview2: Tech discussion with the end customer • Offer & Onboarding: Successful candidates receive an offer and start the onboarding process.
