As a Volunteer Crisis Counselor, you will work closely with Crisis Counselor Supervisors to provide de-escalation to people in crisis via a text-based service. You will provide empathy and compassion while collaborating with your Crisis Counselor Supervisor on any necessary external intervention. General Studies with a concentration in these areas</li><li>Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program</li><li>Work study as part of the financial aid package</li><li>18 years of age</li><li>Must complete and pass a background check</li><li>Must have your own laptop/desktop computer with reliable internet</li></ul>Learning Outcomes:<ul><li>Develop Communication skills through professional interactions with staff and clients. </li><li>Build Professionalism through reliability, accountability, and workplace etiquette.</li><li>Improve Critical Thinking by solving problems and making informed decisions in daily tasks.</li><li>Increase Career & Self-Development through workplace experience and professional growth.</li><li>Develop Equity & Inclusion awareness by interacting respectfully with diverse populations.</li></ul>Work Schedule Mon-Sun, flexible scheduling. Students will be paid for training time as well as time actively engaged with texters. Please note that hours are not guarenteed as it is based on the volume of clients.
