<p><strong>AECOM</strong> has a position available for a <strong>Substation Engineer</strong> with a <strong>specialization in physical substation design</strong>.</p><p><strong>This position can be remote or based out of any AECOM office located in Dallas, TX; Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Bloomfield, NJ; Boston, MA; Burlington, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Conshohocken, PA.&#xa0;</strong></p><p>The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the design of utility scale substation design.</p><p>The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to:</p><p>• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.<br> • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.<br> • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.<br> • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.<br> • Identifies discrepancies in results.<br> • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.<br> • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education</li><li>Experience with high voltage substation design</li><li>EIT Certification</li><li>Experience in use of AutoCAD and/or Bentley Microstation</li></ul><p>Preferred Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Professional engineering license or ability to obtain one within 2 years of hire.</li><li>Knowledge of construction practices and constructability</li><li>Experience with proposal writing and project estimating.</li><li>Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes.</li><li>Superior Verbal &amp; Written Communications</li><li>Driven for Results, Decision Quality, Priority Setting, Planning, Conflict Management, Informing, Listening, Dealing with Ambiguity, and Customer Focus.</li><li>Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations.</li><li>Familiar with applicable codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC).</li><li>Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a must.</li><li>Effective verbal communication and technical writing skills.</li><li>Ability to pay close attention to detail and check the quality of own and others’ work.</li><li>Ability to use sound engineering judgment.</li><li>Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.</li><li>Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code</li></ul> <ul><li>Relocation assistance is not available for this role</li><li>Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position.</li><li><strong>THIS POSTING IS FOR A CURRENT VACANCY, AND AECOM INTENDS TO FILL THIS POSITION BY NOVEMBER 12, 2026.</strong></li></ul><div sr-tagline=""></div><p>At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously. <strong><em>To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.</em></strong></p><p>&#xa0;</p><p><strong>About AECOM</strong>&#xa0;</p><p>AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
