Job description

Remote Site Paramedic - Pooling Key responsibilities • Demonstrate an understanding of all key clients’ contractual agreements • Provide acute health care to clients in a remote setting to the standards set out by International SOS policies and procedures • Organize and support aero-medical evacuations in liaison with Sydney Alarm Centre • Provide on-call services for afterhours triage with referral to Site Medical Officer. • Refer to other health professionals as appropriate to seek expert advice. • Refer for diagnostic test as appropriate to confirm diagnosis and treatment plan. • Compliance with Privacy Law • Perform health monitoring as agreed to client requirements. • To assist the client to be compliant with all relevant regulations and statutory requirements in order to minimize the company’s risk exposure and liabilities. • Where appropriate, to provide advice and guidance to managers and supervisors on occupational health and return to work policies and procedures. • Assist client to identify appropriate resources, information and support necessary to provide a safe work environment • Work closely with site Ambulance Drivers in upskilling and maintaining the ambulance condition and equipment. • Administer drugs, immunizations etc as per Medical Director orders • Liaise with all parties involved in the injury management of employees onsite • Ensure effective communication with internal and external customers and stakeholders to ensure the services are timely, tailored, effectively utilized and better than competing providers About you Required Competencies • Thorough knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures • Valid driver’s license • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a propensity for teamwork • Computer Skills • Report writing Additional Competencies include • Punctuality and good attendance • A customer service commitment at all times • Ability to work as part of a professional team and ensure a high level of trust and integrity within team Required Work Experience • Minimum four years’ experience as an acute care paramedic or registered nurse • Excellent emergency and advanced life support skills • Aero-Medical evacuation experience • Excellent clinical skills – ability to assess, diagnose and treat to aid early intervention • Experience in rehabilitating injured workers • Familiar with state worker’s compensation legislation • Experience in training and development. • Experience as a flight paramedic or in search and rescue paramedic roles is highly desirable Required Qualifications • Current state registered paramedic • Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable) • ACLS compulsory and ATLS, HUET, Winch (desirable) • Valid Authority to Practice • Valid Certificate of Medical Registration Required Languages • English Benefits
