Job description
<p>The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking remote-based applications for a fellowship with the Party’s Candidate Support team through the November 2026 election. Fellows will be trained and have opportunities to gain hands-on experience by supporting the FDP’s candidate slates.</p>
<p><em>Take Back Local is the FDP’s core candidate support program. Since its launch, it has supported over 70 local candidates, with an average 70% win rate, helping local Democrats build strong, well-run campaigns and win tough elections, even in the reddest parts of our state.</em></p>
<p>This fellowship is geared toward training those with an interest in working directly with candidates and their campaign teams, including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Voter contact for Take Back Local candidates, which includes Phone Banking and Text Banking</li>
<li>Volunteer recruitment for campaign-related activities </li>
<li>Creating digital materials for Take Back Local candidates</li>
<li>Special projects for candidates participating in the Take Back Local program, as needed</li>
</ul>
<p>Fellows will be required to set a part-time schedule of 12 hours per week for eight weeks, from Monday, September 14th, 2026 to Friday, November 6th, 2026. Fellows will earn a stipend of $1,500 at the end of the program. A reliable computer is required for this role.</p>
<p><strong>Required Skills & Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Previous campaign/political/organizing experience a plus, but not required</li>
<li>Experienced or comfortable making direct calls to voters</li>
<li>High level of personal responsibility</li>
<li>Ability to work week nights and weekends as necessary</li>
<li>Excellent writing and communication skills</li>
<li>Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks at once</li>
<li>Ability to maintain calm and positive demeanor under pressure</li>
<li>Ability to work well with others and respect opinions</li>
<li>Close attention to detail</li>
<li>Commitment to Democratic principles</li>
<li>Strong public speaking skills are preferred</li>
