<p>AECOM has a position available for a <strong>Substation Engineering Lead</strong> with a specialization in utility substation design. <strong>The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the physical design of utility scale substation development.</strong></p><p>The responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to:</p><ul><li>Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.</li><li>Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for substation scopes.</li><li>Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.</li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.</li><li>Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.</li><li>Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings</li><li>Prepares technical specification sections.</li><li>Provides input for the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.</li><li>Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances.</li><li>Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work.</li><li>Remove any impediments that are obstructing the engineering team from achieving its goals.</li><li>Works to advise Management about how to maximize ROI for the team.</li><li>Attending all client technical review meetings.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.</li><li>Minimum 6 years of relevant high voltage substation design (physical) experience </li><li>Professional engineer license (PE)</li><li>Experience with use of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation</li><li>Experience with use of CDEGS, WinIGS</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Proficiency in assessing mechanical forces and thermal effects of high fault currents on rigid bus</li><li>Knowledge of construction practices and constructability</li><li>Experience with proposal writing and project estimating</li><li>Working knowledge of scheduling and project controls processes</li><li>2+ years of overseeing and managing a project team</li><li>Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments. </li><li>Superior Verbal & Written Communications</li><li>Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations.</li><li>Strong familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code </li></ul>
