Position: Insurance Domain Expert Type: Contract Compensation: $60–$100/hour Location: Bay Area, California Commitment: 40 hours/week Role Responsibilities • Evaluate the quality of insurance knowledge tasks and AI model outputs . Identify missing behaviors, flawed assumptions, and misapplied policy language. • Design high-quality instruction specs and produce golden solutions for insurance and actuarial problems. Define tasks reflecting real-world practices. • Develop benchmarks and evaluation sets for insurance tasks. Collaborate with research teams to build domain-specific skills and tools. • Collaborate with client researchers to maintain consistent standards. Translate tacit insurance judgment into explicit, teachable criteria. • Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance . Qualifications Must-Have • Actuarial credential (FSA, ASA, FCAS, or ACAS) or active state insurance license. • 4+ years of substantive insurance experience. • Specialization in areas like life and annuity, property and casualty, or underwriting. • Seniority progression to roles like Actuary, Senior Actuary, or Claims Manager. • Hands-on experience with large language models. • Excellent written communication skills. • Living in the Bay Area, California and able to work on-site multiple days each week.
