Job description
Accountabilities:
• Manage inbound and outbound communications with patients regarding medical bills, insurance claims, account balances, payments, reimbursements, and related inquiries.
• Explain insurance benefits, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket responsibilities in a clear, professional, and empathetic manner.
• Research and resolve billing and balance concerns by reviewing account notes, claim status, payment postings, and payer communications.
• Support claim follow-up, appeals, reconsiderations, and patient correspondence while identifying barriers to reimbursement.
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Billing, Coding, Credentialing, and Account Management teams to resolve complex patient and payer issues.
• Accurately document patient interactions, account activity, follow-ups, and resolutions in designated systems while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
• Monitor assigned patient communication channels, respond within established SLAs, and complete follow-up, printing, and mailing activities accurately and on time.
• Participate in team meetings, quality reviews, training, and continuous improvement initiatives, identifying recurring patient issues and opportunities to improve processes.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, U.S. healthcare regulations, payer requirements, privacy standards, and internal policies.
• Support performance objectives related to productivity, response times, issue resolution, documentation accuracy, patient satisfaction, and overall revenue cycle effectiveness.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in U.S. healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), medical billing, accounts receivable, patient services, healthcare operations, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent relevant healthcare revenue cycle experience.
• Experience supporting U.S.-based healthcare providers, physician groups, hospitals, healthcare outsourcing organizations, or offshore delivery operations is preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare revenue cycle workflows, including eligibility and benefits verification, medical billing, claims, payment posting, accounts receivable, denials, appeals, collections, and patient financial responsibility.
• Working knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans.
• Familiarity with healthcare practice management systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and RCM technologies.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS concepts is an advantage.
• Experience with denial management, payer follow-up, appeals, and reimbursement processes is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with U.S. patients.
• Strong customer service, empathy, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills, particularly when handling sensitive financial discussions.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet SLAs, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to patient privacy and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness and ability to work a night shift aligned with U.S. healthcare operations.
