Accounting Manager – GAAP, Multi-Entity Accounting, Payroll & Month-End Close | Remote Position Type: Full-Time, Remote Working Hours: U.S. Business Hours About the Role At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an Accounting Manager to own financial reporting, month-end close, payroll, compliance, and core accounting operations across complex client accounts. This is a hands-on accounting role requiring strong accrual accounting and GAAP expertise , experience managing multi-entity and multi-location financials , and the ability to maintain accurate, reliable accounting systems with minimal oversight. This is not a basic bookkeeping or data-entry position. You’ll take direct ownership of financial accuracy, close execution, and accounting operations. What You’ll Own Month-End Close & Financial Reporting • Execute accurate and timely month-end close • Prepare and maintain financial reports aligned with client requirements • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready workpapers • Ensure reporting complies with GAAP and established deadlines • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies proactively General Accounting Operations • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities • Manage day-to-day accounting activities and reconciliations • Support complex multi-entity, multi-location, and multi-segment accounting structures Payroll & Employee Setup • Process payroll using Gusto or similar platforms • Manage employee setup and onboarding within payroll systems • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule Sales Tax & Compliance • Calculate and file U.S. state sales tax • Maintain complete documentation for filings • Ensure tax and accounting compliance deadlines are met • Support accurate recordkeeping across entities Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting • Build custom financial and management reports • Support budgeting and forecasting processes • Analyze financial data and provide useful business insights • Support data visualization and leadership decision-making Process Improvement • Review and document accounting workflows • Identify inefficiencies and accounting process gaps • Standardize processes across clients and systems • Build cleaner, more scalable accounting procedures Client & Leadership Coordination • Communicate regularly with leadership on priorities and deliverables • Support client-facing financial communication when required • Maintain alignment around close schedules and reporting expectations • Explain financial information clearly and professionally Requirements • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience • Strong experience with accrual accounting and GAAP financials • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-location, or multi-segment accounting • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Desktop, and/or Enterprise • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: • XLOOKUP • INDEX/MATCH • Pivot Tables • Data Tables • Payroll processing experience using Gusto or similar platforms • Experience with U.S. sales tax filings • Strong understanding of general ledger and financial reporting • Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy • Strong written and verbal English communication • Ability to work independently during U.S. business hours Nice to Have • NetSuite experience • Familiarity with ADP or Paylocity • Experience with Ramp or Bill.com • Familiarity with Clockify or similar time-tracking systems • Background in outsourced accounting or managing multiple client accounts What Success Looks Like • Accurate and timely month-end closes • Clean financial reporting with minimal errors or rework • Organized accounting records across multiple entities • Accurate and reliable payroll processing • Timely sales tax and compliance filings • Strong accounting processes and documentation • High leadership confidence in financial accuracy Interview Process • Initial Screening Call • Spark Hire Video Interview • Recruiter Interview • Final Interview • Offer & Onboarding Apply Now If you’re an experienced Accounting Manager with strong GAAP, accrual accounting, QuickBooks, payroll, and multi-entity accounting experience , we’d love to hear from you. #AccountingManager #GAAP #QuickBooks #MonthEndClose #MultiEntityAccounting #Payroll #FinancialReporting #AccountingJobs #RemoteAccounting #RemoteJobs
