Job description
What You'll Do
Strategic Business Partnership
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, bringing a financial and business perspective to company planning, investment decisions, organizational priorities, and growth initiatives.
• Act as the financial business partner to department leaders — developing a deep understanding of their operations, challenges, and opportunities, and translating data into actionable insights that drive stronger, faster decisions.
• Partner with the Head of People & Organizational Effectiveness on workforce and organizational planning, including headcount strategy, organizational design, and resource allocation.
• Build business cases, model scenarios, assess ROI and risk, and clearly articulate tradeoffs so leadership can make informed decisions about where and how Alliance invests for growth.
Financial Planning & Analysis
• Own the company's financial planning and forecasting framework, including the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, long-range planning, and monthly performance reporting.
• Build financial models and business cases that inform strategic decisions — including investments, new offerings, organizational changes, and headcount planning.
• Own performance against key financial and commercial targets, including EBITDA, partner incentives, and recurring revenue. Identify emerging risks and opportunities early.
• Partner with the CEO on board and investor reporting, developing clear financial narratives that communicate performance, outlook, key drivers, and strategic priorities.
Controller & Order Processing Oversight
• Lead, develop, and partner with the Controller and broader Finance team — establishing strong operating rhythms, controls, reporting standards, and accountability across the function.
• Oversee the financial components of the order-to-revenue lifecycle, ensuring accurate deal booking, billing readiness, provisioning coordination, and strong handoffs across Sales, Finance, and Delivery.
• Continuously evaluate and improve Finance systems, processes, and automation to simplify workflows, strengthen data integrity, and build infrastructure that scales with the business.
Revenue & Business Intelligence
• Own revenue and commercial analytics at the strategic level, providing leadership with clear visibility into pipeline health, bookings, revenue performance, renewals, retention, and churn.
• Lead deeper analysis of the drivers behind company performance, including customer and product segmentation, retention and churn trends, expansion opportunities, and service-line economics.
• Support pricing, packaging, and investment decisions by developing financial models that evaluate economics, scalability, ROI, and potential business impact.
• Partner closely with Sales leadership on forecasting and pipeline analytics, improving the predictability of future performance.
What They're Looking For
Required
• 7–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or finance leadership — ideally within a PE-backed, high-growth, or professional services environment.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities, with the ability to independently build and evaluate multi-year forecasts, investment and ROI models, pricing scenarios, and complex business cases.
• Strategic and commercial mindset that extends beyond Finance — you understand how the pieces of a business connect and can translate performance and market dynamics into thoughtful growth recommendations.
• Exceptional executive communication skills — able to distill complex financial information into clear, compelling insights for senior leadership, investors, and board-level audiences.
• Proven leadership capability, with experience developing high-performing teams, setting clear expectations, and creating accountability while empowering others to own their work.
• Strong ownership and a bias toward action — energized by building and evolving functions, proactively identifying opportunities, and creating structure in a growing organization.
Nice to Have
• Experience within professional services, SaaS, construction technology, or channel/partner-based business models.
• Experience working in a PE-backed environment with familiarity in investor reporting, value-creation initiatives, and the pace and rigor of private equity ownership.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar cloud-based financial management platforms.
• Exposure to AI, automation, or technology-enabled business transformation.
• Experience supporting M&A, due diligence, integration, or strategic acquisitions.
• A background that combines strong quantitative thinking with business strategy — whether through finance, economics, engineering, or another analytically rigorous discipline.
