Duties & Responsibilities Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Java Team Lead to oversee the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade web portals and digital experience solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Java/J2EE and related frameworks, combined with proven leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of developers. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership - Lead a team of Java developers in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. - Define technical architecture, coding standards, and best practices for portal and web application development. - Review and approve technical designs, code, and system configurations. - Provide hands-on support in designing, coding, debugging, and optimizing applications when necessary. Project Delivery - Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Architects to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - Plan, prioritize, and allocate tasks for the development team to ensure timely delivery. - Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements. - Oversee integration of Liferay portals with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, ECM). People & Process Management - Mentor, coach, and develop team members to enhance skills and productivity. - Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. - Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback. - Drive Agile/Scrum practices, ensuring continuous delivery and improvement. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE development, with at least 2+ years leading development teams. - Strong expertise in Java, including customization, theming, portlet/module development, and OSGi frameworks. - Proficiency in Spring, Hibernate/JPA, RESTful services, and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular is a plus). - Solid understanding of software design principles, microservices, cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience integrating Liferay with identity management (SSO, LDAP, OAuth2, SAML). - Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. ⸻ Preferred Qualifications - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, SonarQube). - Liferay certification(s) is a plus. - Familiarity with enterprise content management (ECM) and document management systems (e.g., Alfresco, SharePoint).
