JAVA DEVELOPER

<p>We are looking for a talented <strong>Java Backend Engineer</strong> to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, working in a modern microservices architecture. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable applications.</p><p>If you are passionate about backend development, cloud-native technologies, and building robust enterprise applications, we'd love to hear from you.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain backend services using <strong>Java</strong> and the <strong>Spring ecosystem</strong> (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, etc.).</li><li>Design, implement, and maintain <strong>RESTful APIs</strong>.</li><li>Participate in the design, optimization, and maintenance of <strong>PostgreSQL</strong> database models.</li><li>Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications running on <strong>OpenShift</strong>.</li><li>Collaborate with frontend engineers working with <strong>React</strong> to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend services.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high code quality standards.</li><li>Develop and execute unit tests and support continuous integration practices.</li><li>Troubleshoot production issues and proactively improve application performance, scalability, and security.</li><li>Work collaboratively within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives.</li></ul> <p><strong>Required Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience in <strong>Java backend development</strong>.</li><li>Strong knowledge of <strong>Spring Boot</strong> and <strong>microservices architecture</strong>.</li><li>Hands-on experience with <strong>PostgreSQL</strong>.</li><li>Experience designing and developing <strong>REST APIs</strong>.</li><li>Knowledge of <strong>Docker</strong> containers and <strong>OpenShift</strong>.</li><li>Experience using <strong>Git</strong> for version control.</li><li>Familiarity with <strong>Agile methodologies</strong> (Scrum and/or Kanban).</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>React</strong> development.</li><li>Knowledge of <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong>, particularly <strong>GitHub Actions</strong>.</li><li>Experience working in cloud environments such as <strong>AWS</strong> or <strong>Azure</strong>.</li><li>Experience with cloud-native application development and containerized deployments.</li></ul> <p><strong>What do we offer you?</strong></p><ul><li>B2B or freelance&#xa0;contract</li><li><strong>Remote within Spain Time zone.&#xa0;</strong></li><li>Possibility to be part of a multicultural team and work on international projects.</li></ul><p><strong>If you are passionate about data, development &amp; tech, we want to meet you !</strong></p><p>Talan Spain’s commitment to non-discrimination based on gender, race, ideology, or any other reason, in accordance with the company’s "Equality Plan" and the current regulations on gender equality between women and men (Royal Decree-Law 6/2019).</p>
