Job description

Accountabilities: • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and maintain the reliability and integrity of financial information. • Participate in the monthly closing process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end analysis. • Analyze cost of goods, margins, and key financial performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities. • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for leadership. • Contribute to budgeting and financial forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance monitoring. • Produce financial reports and ad hoc analyses to support management decision-making. • Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and workflows to increase efficiency and quality. • Manage the accounting component of SR&ED claims and prepare the required financial documentation. • Support year-end activities and prepare documentation and information requested by external auditors. • Collaborate effectively with finance and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and smooth financial operations. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • CPA designation or progress toward obtaining the CPA is considered an asset. • 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial control, or a related finance function. • Solid understanding of the full accounting cycle, monthly closing procedures, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance analysis. • Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, or an equivalent ERP system. • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail. • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a growing environment. • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to different stakeholders. • Proactive, structured, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset.
