Job description

Accountabilities • Define and execute the enterprise Master Data Management strategy and roadmap across Customer, Vendor/Supplier, Material/Product, Finance, Business Partner, and other strategic data domains. • Establish master data standards, policies, ownership models, stewardship responsibilities, governance processes, naming conventions, validation rules, and exception management practices across SAP and non-SAP environments. • Lead functional data governance by partnering with business process owners and data owners to establish definitions, business rules, approval workflows, and stewardship models. • Lead governance forums and drive alignment across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Commercial, Quality, Regulatory, and other business functions. • Design and deliver MDM solutions using platforms such as Syniti, SAP MDG, or equivalent solutions, including data quality controls, workflow automation, validation, and lifecycle management. • Own master data readiness for SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives, including profiling, cleansing, harmonization, mapping, migration rules, validation, mock conversions, cutover preparation, and post-go-live stabilization. • Define and monitor data quality scorecards, cleansing rules, duplicate prevention mechanisms, mandatory field standards, audit trails, and governance KPIs. • Ensure master data processes support regulatory requirements, audit readiness, system validation, data integrity, and applicable controls in regulated environments. • Guide SAP functional, migration, integration, analytics, and business teams on master data models, dependencies, interfaces, standards, and quality requirements. • Drive consistent master data integration across SAP, legacy ERP platforms, PLM, LIMS, CRM, planning, warehouse, analytics, and other enterprise applications. • Lead MDM workstreams, tracking delivery progress, risks, issues, partner performance, data readiness, remediation activities, and operational metrics. • Translate complex data and technical topics into clear business implications and facilitate effective decision-making among technical and executive stakeholders. • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate controls, improve stewardship productivity, reduce data defects, and strengthen confidence in enterprise reporting. • Stay current with MDM technologies, SAP MDG capabilities, Syniti functionality, AI-enabled data quality approaches, and evolving industry best practices. • Build and mentor a high-performing MDM capability, including data stewards, analysts, functional SMEs, and technical specialists. Requirements • 12–15+ years of overall experience in Data Management, ERP, SAP, Data Governance, Data Quality, or Enterprise Applications, with at least 7 years leading enterprise MDM programs as an MDM Lead, Data Governance Lead, SAP Data Lead, MDM Architect, or equivalent. • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred. • Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA master data design and dependencies across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Sales, Quality, Planning, and related business processes. • Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations or major ERP transformation programs, with exposure to multiple implementation, rollout, or data migration cycles preferred. • Hands-on expertise across master data domains including Business Partner, Customer, Vendor/Supplier, Material/Product, Finance, BOM, Routing, Work Centers, Plants, Storage Locations, Profit Centers, Cost Centers, GL Accounts, and organizational structures. • Experience with MDM and data governance platforms such as Syniti, SAP MDG, Informatica MDM, or comparable enterprise solutions. • Strong understanding of data governance operating models, data ownership, stewardship, workflow approvals, metadata, data quality controls, and data lifecycle management. • Proven experience in data profiling, cleansing, harmonization, enrichment, deduplication, migration mapping, validation, reconciliation, and cutover readiness. • Knowledge of SAP integration touchpoints with systems such as PLM, LIMS, CRM, planning, warehouse, analytics, and legacy ERP applications. • Familiarity with SAP modules including FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, QM, PM, EWM/WM, and IBP. • Strong understanding of regulated-industry requirements, including process controls, audit readiness, system validation, compliance, and data integrity. • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or other regulated global manufacturing environments is strongly preferred. • Proven ability to operate within fast-paced global or multinational matrix organizations and influence stakeholders across business and IT. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders, data owners, technical teams, and external partners. • Demonstrated ability to manage governance forums, regulatory or audit discussions, partner teams, and senior-level escalations. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the autonomy to lead complex data challenges from strategic design through execution. • Certification in SAP, SAP MDG, Syniti, Data Governance, or an equivalent discipline is preferred. • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30–40% within India and globally as required.
