• Own and continuously improve the internal lender and product knowledge base, ensuring guidelines, overlays, pricing, programs, and processes remain accurate, current, searchable, and actionable for loan officers.
• Track lender-specific requirements against agency and investor baselines, manage guideline changes, communicate relevant updates, and identify pipeline loans potentially affected by changes.
• Capture lessons from completed loans, including unique structures, exceptions, approvals, and successful approaches, and incorporate those insights into the knowledge base so organizational expertise is continuously strengthened.
• Evaluate potential lender partnerships by assessing business cases, product overlap, portfolio gaps, strategic value, and recommendations for executive leadership.
• Lead new lender onboarding from application and portal setup through product and process analysis, system integration, internal training, and launch communications.
• Develop training materials and product resources for new lenders and collaborate with Marketing on lender-specific collateral, rate sheets, comparison tools, and other enablement materials.
• Maintain lender portals and administrative requirements, including loan officer credentials, entity assignments, licensed addresses, and related account information.
• Lead annual lender renewals, pricing discussions, contract tracking, and relationship offboarding or termination processes when required.
• Serve as the internal escalation point for difficult loan scenarios, pricing exceptions, underwriting issues, and other matters requiring intervention from lender partners.
• Develop and maintain leadership reporting and dashboards covering lender volume, profitability, margin, concentration risk, and other key performance indicators.
• Build and maintain a lender strategy roadmap identifying relationships to expand, consolidate, or sunset based on business performance and strategic priorities.
• Conduct periodic business reviews with key lender partners and maintain strong, productive relationships across the lending ecosystem.
Requirements
• 8+ years of mortgage industry experience, with meaningful experience in product development, product management, underwriting, secondary marketing, capital markets, or closely related functions.
• Deep product knowledge across agency, non-agency, home equity, and renovation lending, including construction-to-permanent, HomeStyle, CHOICERenovation, or ARV-based products.
• Proven experience managing investor, correspondent, or wholesale lender relationships; credit union channel experience is strongly valued.
• Strong loan scenario and underwriting expertise, with the ability to analyze complex files and determine appropriate loan structures and potential solutions.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create clear lender guides, product documentation, loan officer communications, training materials, and marketing content.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, take ownership of complex work, and execute directly rather than relying primarily on delegation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple lender relationships and priorities simultaneously.
• Technology savvy and comfortable learning new software platforms, workflows, and AI-enabled tools quickly.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, loan officers, underwriters, legal teams, marketing, and external lending partners.
• Credit union channel experience is a plus.
• Experience working directly with mortgage origination teams or a strong understanding of sales and loan origination is preferred.
• Experience building or operating a loan scenario or product help desk is advantageous.
• Experience serving as a broker of record or lender point of contact for a mortgage company is a plus.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, loan origination systems, point-of-sale platforms, and pricing and eligibility engines is preferred.
Benefits
• Competitive cash and equity compensation.
• Health, retirement, and other applicable benefits.
• Flexible vacation policy.
• Remote-first work environment with flexibility across time zones.
• High level of ownership and direct visibility with executive leadership.
• Opportunity to influence lender strategy, mortgage product development, and business growth.
• Hands-on role within a technology-driven environment focused on modernizing renovation lending.
• Collaborative culture that values diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
