<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ready to put your <strong>CANES</strong> experience to work in a role that directly impacts fleet readiness? DLH is hiring a <strong>CANES SME</strong> (<strong>Engineering Technician IV)</strong> to join our team supporting TACNET modernization through the development of training aligned to the latest CANES baseline. In this role, you will transform system updates, configuration changes, and fleet requirements into practical training products used across the Navy. Success requires strong shipboard network expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to translate real-world system administration experience into effective training.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Review system updates and configuration changes to ensure the curriculum aligns with the latest CANES fleet baseline.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Develop, update, and maintain CANES and C4I courseware, lesson plans, student guides, presentation materials, and practical lab exercises.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Apply structured training development processes, including the Instructional System Design methodology, to define requirements and establish learning objectives.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Utilize Navy authoring tools such as CPM/LOM and AIM to develop and manage curriculum.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ensure training materials accurately reflect real-world system administration practices and fleet operational standards.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Support pilot courses and fleet training events.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Evaluate training effectiveness and incorporate feedback to maintain technical accuracy and instructional quality.</span></li>

<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">This position is governed by Service Contract Labor Standards and must meet the minimum personnel qualification requirements identified in the contract.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of <strong>three (3) years of experience</strong> supporting one or more of the following Navy systems: Tactical Network (TACNET), Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES), Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS/COMPOSE), & Other comparable Navy Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Science, or another related technical field; <strong>or </strong>Completion of formal electronics training from an accredited technical school, U.S. military Class A or Class B electronics/communications school, or a four-year electronics apprenticeship program; <strong>or </strong>High School diploma or GED.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Five (5) years of professional engineering technician or electronics systems experience if qualifying with an Associate's degree or formal technical training (Completion of formal electronics training from an accredited technical school, U.S. military Class A or Class B electronics/communications school, or a four-year electronics apprenticeship program); or Seven (7) years of professional engineering technician or electronics systems experience if qualifying with a High School diploma or GED.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Demonstrated experience in the design, development, testing, analysis, modification, and documentation of engineering systems, equipment, devices, or components, including preparation and modification of engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical reports.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience analyzing technical data, developing design solutions, conducting and evaluating tests, troubleshooting equipment performance issues, and recommending or implementing design improvements.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical documentation to real-world systems or training content.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold;"><strong><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">DoD 8570/8140 Cybersecurity workforce qualified within nine (9) months of hire date.</span></strong></li>

<p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Recent hands-on experience administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, or configuring CANES in an afloat U.S. Navy environment.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Recent Navy experience as an Information Systems Technician (IT), Information Warfare professional, or contractor directly supporting CANES, ISNS/COMPOSE, TACNET, or other afloat C4I systems.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience supporting fleet sustainment, Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs), In-Service Engineering Activities (ISEAs), or similar Navy technical organizations.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience developing training materials, SOPs, technical guides, or configuration documentation.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with Navy training development processes or structured curriculum development.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Experience with VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, Cisco networking, or related enterprise technologies.</span></li>
<li style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Prior experience mentoring, training, or providing technical guidance to military, government, or contractor personnel in technical environments.</span></li>
