This role will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and forecasting natural gas fundamentals and market dynamics across the Midwest region, with a focus on regional supply-demand balances, weather-sensitive demand, pipeline flows, seasonal opportunities, Canadian imports and basis market development.</span></p> <p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The successful candidate will develop actionable market insights that support physical and financial trading decisions, natural gas storage optimization, commercial strategy, and executive decision-making. This individual must be a self-starter capable of working independently while effectively communicating market views and recommendations across trading, commercial, and executive teams.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Market Analysis &amp; Forecasting</strong>: Build and maintain detailed Midwest natural gas supply-demand balance models incorporating Appalachian and Midcontinent supply flows, Canadian imports, storage activity, pipeline receipts and deliveries, residential and commercial demand, power burn, industrial demand, and regional exports. Develop short- and long-term market forecasts based on these balances</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Infrastructure &amp; Flow Monitoring:</strong> Monitor pipeline operations, maintenance activity, constraints, storage utilization, import capacity, regional transportation corridors, and basis market movements impacting Midwest supply-demand balances. Analyze the interaction among Appalachian, Western Canadian, Rockies, Midcontinent, and Gulf Coast supply sources.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Industrial &amp; Agricultural Demand Analysis:</strong> Monitor natural gas consumption across key Midwest industries, including manufacturing, refining, petrochemicals, steel, fertilizer, ethanol, food processing, and other agricultural or industrial end users. Identify structural changes, facility developments, outages, and economic trends that may affect regional demand</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Basis Market Development:</strong> Analyze the fundamental drivers of Midwest pricing locations and basis relationships, including Chicago, Dawn, MichCon, Consumers Energy, ANR, Northern Natural Gas, NGPL, and other relevant regional markets. Identify changes in transportation economics, supply sourcing, market connectivity, and infrastructure that may create trading or commercial opportunities.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Data Visualization &amp; Reporting: </strong>Create dashboards, presentations, recurring reports, and analytical tools that effectively communicate market data, forecasts, and trading-relevant insights to stakeholders across the organization</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Cross-Team Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with origination, trading, operations, scheduling, and commodities analytics teams to ensure alignment of market views, assumptions, and methodologies</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Strategic Input:</strong> Provide actionable market insights and recommendations to Commodities leadership and senior management, contributing to strategy, asset optimization, and risk management decisions</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Required Skills and Experience:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, finance, data science, business, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">5+ years of experience in natural gas markets. </span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience building regional natural gas supply-demand balances and analyzing pipeline flows, weather-sensitive demand, storage activity, and basis markets.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Strong Excel modeling skills are a must. Familiarity with data tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, or other programming and visualization platforms is a plus. </span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Deep understanding of the physical natural gas market, pipeline infrastructure, and pricing dynamics.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Excellent communication skills – able to synthesize and present complex information clearly and persuasively.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for customer meetings, industry conferences, market participant engagement, and department-wide events.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Preferred Skills and Experience:</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience working within Midwest natural gas markets preferred.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Experience with EIA, PointLogic, Genscape, pipeline EBBs, or similar data sources.</span></li> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Prior experience supporting a trading desk.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.</span></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br>Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">EQT Corporation and its subsidiaries is an Equal Opportunity Employer -- Disabilities/Veterans.</span></p> <p> </p></div>
