MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER
lakeora
Full-timemid
Job description
LAKEORA is a Riyadh-based data and AI advisory firm and a pure-play Databricks partner. We build the governed data platforms that Saudi enterprises run their decisions on, going deep on one platform rather than wide across many, with governance designed in from the start. We are early-stage, flat, and deliberately small. You work directly with customers, own the architecture you design, and see it reach production. We like engineers who are direct, curious, and would rather get something right than get it agreed.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer who can take machine learning solutions beyond experimentation and build reliable, production-ready systems that deliver measurable business value.
You'll work across the ML lifecycle, from data preparation and experimentation to deployment, monitoring, and optimization, collaborating closely with data engineers, architects, and client teams.
You'll have the opportunity to solve real-world problems using modern data and AI technologies within enterprise environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for enterprise use cases
- Build scalable ML pipelines covering data preparation, training, validation, and deployment
- Perform feature engineering, model selection, experimentation, and optimization
- Develop production-ready Python code and reusable ML components
- Deploy and operationalize models within cloud and Databricks environments
- Implement MLOps practices for experiment tracking, versioning, deployment, and monitoring
- Monitor model performance and identify model or data drift
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to build reliable data pipelines for ML workloads
- Translate business requirements into appropriate machine learning solutions
- Document models, experiments, assumptions, and technical decisions
- Support client discussions, demonstrations, and technical workshops where required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Professional experience in machine learning, data science, or ML engineering
- Strong Python programming skills
- Strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques
- Experience with libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks
- Experience developing and deploying machine learning models
- Understanding of feature engineering, model evaluation, and experimentation
- Knowledge of SQL and data processing
- Familiarity with software engineering and version-control practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred
- Hands-on Databricks experience
- Experience with MLflow and Databricks Machine Learning
- Certified Databricks ML Associate/Professional
- Experience with Spark or PySpark
- Experience implementing MLOps practices
- Knowledge of Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise datasets
- Experience within consulting or client-facing environments
- Understanding of responsible AI, data governance, and model governance
BENEFITS & PERKS
- Competitive salary package based on experience and capabilities
- Flexible remote-first work environment with work-from-home options depending on responsibilities
- Premium medical insurance coverage
- Performance-based bonuses and career growth opportunities
- Sponsored Databricks and professional certification opportunities
- Exposure to production-grade data and AI projects
- Direct mentorship from experienced data, AI, and technology professionals
- Paid annual leave and public holidays
