<p>As a Coding Complex Specialist in our Revenue Cycle team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate healthcare reimbursement and data integrity. You'll review, analyze, and validate diagnostic and procedural codes from front-end coding and clinical teams, applying established coding principles to optimize reimbursement while maintaining strict compliance with third-party policies and regulatory guidelines. Your expertise in abstracting detailed information from electronic health records will directly support critical medical research projects, patient care evaluations, and strategic administrative decisions that impact our organization. You'll serve as a trusted data source for the healthcare team, recognizing patterns and trends that drive root-cause analysis, while collaborating with colleagues to elevate coding accuracy across the department. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will ensure our patient database remains a reliable foundation for provider-patient continuity, quality care delivery, and operational excellence—all while upholding the highest standards of legal and ethical conduct.</p> <p>REQUIRED:</p><ul><li>High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent</li><li>Minimum 2 years of coding experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting</li><li>Current certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)</li><li>Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems</li><li>Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and disease processes</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors</li><li>Ability to work remotely</li></ul><p>PREFERRED:</p><ul><li>Specialty coding certification or 5+ years of coding experience</li><li>1-2 years of college coursework or additional training in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences</li><li>Experience with pattern recognition and trend analysis to support root-cause analysis</li><li>Demonstrated ability to mentor and assist team members</li><li>Knowledge of pharmacology and coding systems</li></ul><p>CORE COMPETENCIES:</p><ul><li>Attention to detail and data accuracy</li><li>Problem-solving and analytical thinking</li><li>Commitment to legal and ethical standards in healthcare</li></ul>
