Job description
Accountabilities:
• Take full ownership and accountability for the success, satisfaction, and retention of an assigned book of business, building trusted relationships with customers and strategic partners.
• Lead the execution of the consulting model for assigned clients, ensuring consistently high-quality benefits consulting services and strong customer outcomes.
• Develop and execute annual account plans tailored to each customer’s priorities, benefits strategy, business objectives, and evolving needs.
• Provide strategic guidance on benefits solutions, funding approaches, compliance considerations, industry developments, and opportunities to improve overall program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with consulting delivery team members to develop and implement strategic initiatives that create value for customers and strengthen team performance.
• Drive customer results while supporting the development and effectiveness of individual consulting delivery teams.
• Stay current on benefits industry trends, emerging best practices, and regulatory requirements, and translate relevant developments into clear education and recommendations for customers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Technology, and Product, to identify business development opportunities, improve operational processes, and enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain strong, productive relationships with customers, strategic partners, and internal stakeholders while consistently demonstrating a proactive, consultative, collaborative, and accountable approach.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by applying curiosity, creativity, intensity, and a growth mindset to customer and business challenges.
Requirements
• Bring 5–10 years of benefits consulting experience , with a strong track record of managing complex client accounts across diverse market segments, including small, mid-market, and large-group customers.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of benefits consulting and various funding mechanisms, with particular expertise in large-group regulatory compliance , including ERISA, ACA, and COBRA.
• Hold an active Life & Health Producer’s License .
• Possess strong analytical, strategic, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex benefits topics into clear client recommendations.
• Demonstrate experience managing a book of business and building trusted relationships with customers, insurance carriers, vendors, and other benefits partners.
• Be highly proactive and consultative, consistently looking for opportunities to create additional value for customers, colleagues, and partners.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accountability for customer outcomes.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint .
• Experience leading teams or projects is a plus.
• Experience with modern HR and benefits technology platforms is preferred.
• Experience consulting across both large-group and small-group benefits is an advantage.

• Base salary: Estimated annual range of $115,000–$145,000 , depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
