Overview Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services’ experts create solutions customized to the client’s needs. Summary: Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst I to provide support for Blood, Organs, and Other Tissues surveillance for the Medical Product Safety Branch (MPSB). Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: • Support Antibiotic Stewardship activities with a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, statisticians, health educators, medical officers, behavioral scientists, and SMEs. • Provide consultation support for development of scientifically based, plain-language resources for frontline healthcare workers and the public. • Provide consultation support for web/Internet content development on antibiotic stewardship, ensuring message consistency. • Develop analytic plans for research studies using claims-based or EHR-based datasets on antibiotic use appropriateness. • Perform data analysis of large datasets using SAS and/or Python. • Develop scientific manuscripts, ensure appropriate clearance, and submit to journals. • Collect and interpret data from various sources to inform projects and prevention activities. • Serve as an analyst, independently or as part of a team, planning, managing, and/or evaluating public health programs and studies; provide consultation on program standards, policies, and evaluation plans. • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation. • Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues. • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations. • Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation. • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint). • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully. • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges. • Highly organized with great attention to detail. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field. • 1 – 2 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions. • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.) • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software. • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines. • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field. • 3 – 5 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions. • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
