NEARSHORE SECTOR | NODE.JS DEVELOPER

<p>We are currently looking for a <strong>Senior Backend Engineer</strong> to join Devoteam Portugal's Nearshore team, working directly with an international client based in the UK within the <strong>Tech-led Facilities Management &amp; Infrastructure Solutions</strong> sector. In this role, you will focus on building, evolving, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend applications.</p><p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, evolve, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and ExpressJS</li><li>Design, implement, and maintain robust, secure, and well-documented RESTful APIs</li><li>Ensure code quality through engineering best practices, data modeling, testing, and performance optimization</li><li>Collaborate with frontend and cross-functional teams to integrate services and define application architecture</li><li>Participate actively in agile processes, including sprint planning, estimations, code reviews, and technical discussions</li><li>Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex backend technical issues in a timely manner</li><li>Stay up to date with modern backend development patterns and technology trends</li></ul> <ul><li>Minimum <strong>5 years of experience</strong> in backend development with a strong focus on Node.js</li><li>Solid expertise in <strong>ExpressJS</strong> for building scalable backend services</li><li>Strong proficiency in <strong>Relational Databases (SQL)</strong> and data modeling</li><li>Proven experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs</li><li>Familiarity with containerization tools like <strong>Docker</strong> is highly valued</li><li>Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and version control workflows (Git)</li><li>Solid understanding of backend architecture patterns, security, and clean code standards</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills, proactive mindset, and attention to detail</li><li><strong>Fluent in English</strong> (written and spoken) for daily international collaboration</li></ul> <p>Devoteam Group works for equal opportunities, promoting its employees based on merit and actively fights against all forms of discrimination.
