OUTPATIENT COMPLEX CODER - ACUTE CARE MULTISPECIALTY/PHYSICIAN SERVICES -E/M

<p>This position is remote</p><p>GENERAL SUMMARY:</p><p>A more specific posting summary:</p><p>The Complex Coder is responsible for accurately coding professional bedside services in acute hospital settings rendered by employed and contracted providers. This multispecialty professional-fee coding position&#xa0;supports providers across a broad range of medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties requiring the ability to interpret diverse clinical documentation and apply appropriate coding guidelines across a wide variety of patient populations, diagnoses, procedures, and clinical scenarios.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>&#xa0;</p><ul><li>Review and analyze diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records using established coding principles</li><li>Code complex outpatient cases with precision to support accurate reimbursement and billing processes</li><li>Abstract and compile patient data for medical research projects, care evaluation, and administrative decision-making</li><li>Maintain strict adherence to coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, and regulatory requirements</li><li>Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and quality benchmarks</li><li>Contribute to provider-patient continuity through accurate, reliable data management</li><li>Optimize reimbursement outcomes while maintaining coding accuracy and integrity</li></ul><p>&#xa0;</p> <p>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</p><ul><li>High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.</li><li>Additional specialty coding certification required or five (5) years coding experience.</li><li>One to two (1-2) years college or additional coursework in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration or Medical Record Sciences preferred.</li><li>Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.</li><li>Minimum of two (2) years coding experience required.</li><li>Specialty coding experience preferred.</li></ul><p><br> CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:</p><ul><li>Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS certification required.</li></ul> <p>This position is completely remote</p>
